The mechanical friction part adopts oil seal to prevent oil leakage in mechanical clearance. In addition to oil, oil seals should also be used to prevent leakage of water and chemical liquids and invasion of dust and sand from the outside.
1. Sealing state of oil seal.

3. The main feature of oil seal is that the outer part of oil seal is cylindrical to ensure the static sealing of the cavity - rubber outer edge and internal metal skeleton; the outer edge of exposed metal skeleton mostly needs polishing and electroplating anticorrosive coating.
The sealing lip with spring ensures the dynamic and static sealing reliability of the shaft. After long-term development and research, the sealing lip structure of oil seal has been improved to excellent performance, thus improving the sealing reliability in a larger load range.
Adding dust-proof lip or more dust-proof lip can prevent the invasion of foreign pollutants and dust under special circumstances.
4. The function of each part of oil seal is mainly composed of sealing body, reinforcing skeleton and self-tightening coil spring. Seals can be divided into bottom, waist, edge and sealing lip according to different parts. As reinforcing bars in concrete members, metal skeleton keeps the shape and tension of oil seal. In the free state, the inner diameter of the skeleton oil seal is usually smaller than that of the shaft, that is to say, it has a certain amount of interference. Therefore, when the oil is sealed in the oil seal and axle, the pressure at the edge of the oil seal and the contraction force of the self-tightening coil spring produce certain radial tightening force on the axle. After running for a period of time, the pressure will drop rapidly or even disappear. Therefore, the self-tightening force of the oil seal can be compensated by the spring at any time.
The outer edge of the oil seal fixes the oil seal in the cavity hole to prevent the leakage and invasion of the liquid on the contact surface between the outer surface of the oil seal and the inner surface of the cavity. In addition, when the oil seal is fixed in the cavity, the metal skeleton is used to maintain the combining ability.
The sealing lip is an elastic elastomer. It is designed to maintain a stable sealing effect under the influence of mechanical vibration and pressure fluctuation of sealing fluid, and to maintain a stable contact state between lip and shaft surface. The spring can increase the pressure of the seal lip toward the shaft and maintain the pressure. The lip end is obliquely toothed, and the surface of the shaft is pressed into the end to seal the fluid.
Dust-proof lip is an accessory lip which is not connected with spring and plays a role in preventing dust invasion.
5. The sealing mechanism of the oil seal involves two factors: one is the sealing of the cavity, mainly the position of the outer edge of the oil seal (stationary parts) in the cavity; the other is the dynamic sealing of the contact between the sealing lip and the surface of the rotating shaft, which is the most important function of the oil seal. The outer edge of the oil seal ensures the static sealing of the oil seal in the cavity and the stability of the position in the hole, which is convenient for assembly. Rubber materials are usually coated with metal skeleton, which combines reliable static sealing ability.
The material of double-lip tie-rod seal is waterproof and temperature-resistant polyurethane. The whole dimension is expanded outward, and it is double-lip design. The inner and outer lip walls of the seal are close to the bottom of the groove and tie rod to prevent leakage caused by the twist of the tie rod driving the seals to and fro. Its design and material characteristics provide stable sealing efficiency and easy installation, which has become one of the mainstream seals in the world.
